Chorus celebrates European ties
MEMBERS of Guildford’s
Vivace Chorus are back in
town after a successful tour
to Austria, including a concert in Vienna on the evening
the EU Referendum result
was announced.
The choir, which regularly
tours
Europe,
was
visiting
Austria for the first time
and performed concerts in
Salzburg and Vienna, with a
lunchtime concert in St
Stephansdom, Vienna's cathedral, and in Peterkirche,
the church in Vienna where
Mozart was married.
“It is always fantastic to
take our choir overseas,” said
chairman James Garrow.
“Previous tours have included to Freiburg, our twin
town, and it's a privilege to
have sung in some of Eur-
ope’s finest churches and to
very appreciative audiences.
“Our visit to Austria came

Mozart's Mass in C Minor at
Guildford Cathedral and a
grand concert at the Royal
Festival Hall in London on
May Day.
