Deed of Partnership in 1979 as ‘a token and
promise of lasting friendship between the two
communities’.
A Guildford Freiburg Association was formed to
promote the aims of the twinning — encouraging
and arranging contacts and visits, sharing
experiences and supporting residents.
Guildford schools and organisations, including
George Abbot School and the Vivace Chorus
have benefited from regular exchange visits and
cathedral dates from
1510 and stands in
the ancient market
joint events over the last 30 years.
Guildford is also represented each June at a
