Riga, on the River Daugava, is the biggest city in the Baltic Sea States and has far more of a
big-city atmosphere than anywhere else in the region.
Old Riga stretches 1km along the east bank of the Daugava River; its skyline is dominated
by three steeples: St Peter’s, The Dome Cathedral tower and St Jacob’s. The city was made
a member of the Hanseatic League in 1282.

The bus tour visits the most interesting parts of the Estonian capital, with stops at the
Baroque park and swan pond in Kadriorg, the famous Song Festival Grounds and the
seaside district of Pirita, which hosted the sailing regatta of the 1980 Moscow Olympic
Games. An experienced tour guide gives explanations about Estonian history and
contemporary life.
The walking part of the tour goes through Tallinn Old Town,
(UNESCO World Heritage List) and takes in the Alexander
Nevsky Cathedral (19th century).
