Nine years after the Battle of Waterloo in 1815 one visionary man, Sir
William Hillary, founded a charity dedicated to 'the Preservation of Life
from Shipwreck'. From that small seed grew the Royal National Lifeboat
Institution - the RNLI - which today operates over 400 high-powered t
craft from more than 230 Lifeboat stations.

Vivace Chorus and the
RNLI
has
resulted

the focus of providing
much needed support
to our Lifeboat service.

performed at Leeds Castle, Notre Dame de Paris, the Barbican, Fairfield
Hall and St Martin-in-the-Fields.

David Coram
Organist and accompanist
In addition to concerts in France, Spain, Germany and the USA, the
2011-2012 season saw David embark on a cathedral concert tour to
promote his new CD of Peter and the Wolf and Carnival of the Animals,
which features Richard Briers as narrator and pianist David Owen Norris.
The tour incorporates an educational programme, for which David is
currently building an
interactive organ
with organ building colleague
Stephen Cooke. He is Director of Music at Hammersmith Parish Church.
RGS Big Band
The Big Band of the Royal Grammar School comprises around 50 of the
most
able
woodwind
and
brass
players
across
the
school
and
specialises in the performance of mostly light music. It rehearses every
week and gives regular concerts throughout the academic year. The Big
Band has often toured abroad and has visited countries including Spain
and Italy.

Elizabeth, Vicky and Jane are all graduates of the Royal Academy of
Music
and
enjoy
active
and
varied
freelance
careers.
Collective
orchestral experience includes London Symphony, London Philharmonic,
Royal Philharmonic and Royal Opera House orchestras as well as
supporting artists including Elton John, Julie Andrews and Squeeze.
They are also involved in a variety of chamber ensembles that have
performed for BBC broadcasting and in numerous international festivals.
The Fortuna Trio have an extensive repertoire and have appeared in
recitals around the UK as well as at corporate and social functions.
Recent
clients
have
included
Downing
Street,
Royal
Shakespeare
Company, The Royal Parks, House of Commons, UCL, ITN, Sainsbury’s
and Home House.
The trio belongs to the Music in Hospitals scheme with whom they
regularly give workshops and recitals to audiences of all ages.
The
Fortuna Trio are also delighted to work with Wigmore Learning as part of
Chamber Tots.

The North Sea String Quartet
The North Sea String Quartet was founded in 2008 at the Royal College
of Music.
They

North Sea String Quartet has performed in masterclasses with members
of the Chilingirian Quartet, Quator Ebene and the Endellion Quartet, to

careers,

have
individually
performed
with
orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Liverpool
Philharmonic Orchestra, Northern Sinfonia, and City of Birmingham
Symphony Orchestra.

Hilary Fletcher, RNLI Volunteer, Guildford
Hilary volunteers for the RNLL. She helps
raise funds in her local area in memory of her
husband. Whenever he went out to sea, Hilary
was comforted to know that if he got into
trouble, someone was there. The funds she raises
make sure our crews can keep being there.
